Reliability

MRSK Sibiri, including 9 regional electric grid companies providing for transportation of electric power in Western and Eastern Siberia, plans to spend 1,55 billion roubles for a repair campaign in 2008.
A primary trend in MRSK’s activity is increase of reliability of electric networks.
One of MRSK’s activity results characterizing the reliability of network complex servicing is the result of its going through the period of autumn-winter maximum of load. Within two years in autumn-winter periods (AWP) of 2006/2007 and 2007/2008 there were no large emergency situations with the company’s equipment. Comparison of the last two AWPs also shows decrease in the number of minor incidents (by 16%) and undersupply of energy (by 44%).
In 2008 the repair campaign is realized in the full accordance with the schedule. Almost 30 thousand km of lines of 6-10/04 kV and almost 5 thousand km of lines of 110 kV will be repaired in all. Among 1880 substations 450 will be fully repaired and on the rest preventive repair will be carried out.
The biggest volume of repair is planned in the branch of Kuzbasenrgo-RES. The repair campaign increased: from 182,2 mln. last year up to 355,8 mln. this year. The main reason is acceptance of a number of ownerless networks and about 140 mln. roubles are planned to be spent to repair them. Acceptance of Kuzbasenrgo-RES and repair of ownerless objects will finally ensure stable power supply of all territories of Kemerovo region and eliminate social tension where the issues of power supply are still a reason for discontent of population.

For today ownerless networks are the weakest section in the power system of Siberia. Objects of 0,4-10 kV represent the main part of ownerless networks. Thousands of kilometers of electric networks and hundreds of transformer substations now stay without owners for different reasons. Equipment of suchlike transformer substations and power transmission lines are in a sad state, they are not repaired for years and not serviced. For today wear of ownerless networks is more than 85%. Losses of electric power in ownerless networks are from 25% up to 35% of distribution into the network.
